The Victron Energy Cerbo GX MK2 (BPP900451100) is the advanced communication hub designed to serve as the central brain for marine, off-grid, and industrial power systems. This unit integrates all Victron components—including inverters, solar chargers, and battery monitors—into a unified network, allowing for seamless local and remote management. As the hardware successor to the original Cerbo GX, the MK2 introduces several critical physical and functional upgrades to improve reliability and ease of installation.
The MK2 model features significant upgrades to its port configuration and physical design:
Two Fully Functional CAN Bus Ports: The MK2 provides two VE.Can ports (VE.Can 1 and VE.Can 2) instead of the single VE.Can and BMS-Can layout on the previous version. This allows for greater flexibility when connecting managed lithium batteries alongside other CAN bus devices.
Isolated VE.Can 1: The first CAN bus port is now electrically isolated, which prevents ground loops and enhances system stability in complex electrical environments.
Functional USB Ports: All three USB ports on the MK2 are now fully data-capable. In the original model, one port was restricted to providing power only for a GX Touch display.
Rotated RJ-45 Sockets: The ethernet and bus ports have been rotated 180 degrees. This design change makes it significantly easier to access the release clips on cables when the unit is mounted in tight spaces.
Pulse Counting: The digital inputs now support pulse counting, a critical feature for monitoring flow meters or other sensors that provide a frequency-based signal.
The Cerbo GX MK2 provides a comprehensive overview of your entire energy ecosystem. Users can monitor battery state of charge, solar energy harvest, and power consumption from shore or generator sources in real-time. The unit also includes four resistive tank level inputs and four temperature sense inputs, allowing you to track vital fluids and environmental conditions without additional hardware.
The system is designed for maximum accessibility:
Local Display: It is fully compatible with the GX Touch 50 and GX Touch 70 waterproof touchscreens for a dedicated dashboard interface.
Remote Management: By connecting to the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, you can monitor and configure your system from anywhere in the world using a smartphone or computer.
Marine MFD Integration: The unit supports NMEA 2000, allowing power data to be displayed directly on marine multi-function displays from brands such as Garmin, Raymarine, and Simrad.
Bluetooth Connectivity: Built-in Bluetooth allows for quick setup and diagnostics using the VictronConnect app on local mobile devices.
